Could cannabis help treat diabetes? A small but growing body of research suggests that certain cannabinoids may hold promise.
In a study published in the journal Molecules, researchers from the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry in Italy have found that cannabimovone (CBM), a rare cannabinoid, can sensitize cells to insulin. CBM thus joins CBD, THC, THCV, and THCA as a potentially promising avenue of research for diabetes prevention. The Italian researchers were interested in THC and CBD’s insulin-sensitizing effects and wondered if there were any other cannabinoids that might do the same with fewer side effects. Using computer modeling, they searched their cannabinoid database, and there it was: CBM fit into the model. Makes one wonder what else does cannabis have in its arsenal of healing.

Heres a simple recipe to make your very own Gummies.
Ingredients
In a small saucepan, bring the water, infused coconut oil, and lecithin to medium heat and whisk together until fully combined. Once the mixture starts to bubble, increase to medium-high heat for a rolling boil. Slowly add in the unflavored gelatin while continuously whisking at the same time. Do not stop whisking!!! Once the unflavored gelatin is mixed in, add in all of the flavored gelatin while continuing to whisk. Whisk together on medium-high heat for about 1 minute until fully combined and smooth. Turn down heat source to low heat while continuing to whisk. Mixture should still be bubbling, but not boiling. Working very quickly, begin to fill your molds. Stir the mixture every so often to recombine. Mixture will continually get thicker and thicker as the gelatin sets, so you only have a few minutes to fill the molds. Once the mixture is used up, place the molds in the freezer or refrigerator for the gummies to harden, about 20 minutes to an hour. Once completely set, pop them out of the molds and store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy. CBD does not cure coronavirus. There is no study that reflects some claims that it does.
What CBD does is reduce the immune system's inflammatory response. Inflammation is a vital response that isolates infected areas and prevents toxins from spreading. CBD can promote apoptosis, or cellular death. CBD can prevent proliferation, or rapid cellular growth. CBD is like a vitamin supplement, it helps the body to function optimally by keeping inflammation in check. All disease arises from inflammation. By reducing inflammation, one may be able to fight off pathogens easier. In addition to CBD, one should be taking vitamin C, D, and Zinc to boost immune system in hopes of not acquiring viruses. There are many other immune building herbs and treatments out there, so check web and see if any make sense to you. Also, a good nights sleep, fresh air, exercise, and some fun will help with this overwhelming sense of fear and doom. CBD will help with the anxiety and stress from the constant bombardment of media. If you are on immunosuppressant pharmaceuticals, you should be very careful, staying home at the very least is your best defense and none/minimal contact with anyone, as these drugs actually suppress your immune system making you more susceptible to pathogens. Take care and stay calm. Update: Please see new post with regards to the role stress plays on your immune function. A new study has shown that the use of cannabis for headaches can be beneficial as it reduces headache and migraine pain by up to half. However, the study suggests that it is cannabinoids or other constituents like terpenes that play the central role in headache and migraine relief.
Inhaled cannabis reduces self-reported headache severity by 47.3% and migraine severity by 49.6%, according to a recent study led by Carrie Cuttler, a Washington State Universityassistant professor of psychology. The study, published online recently in the Journal of Pain, is the first to use big data from headache and migraine patients using cannabis in real time. Interestingly, the study found a small gender difference with significantly more sessions involving headache reduction reported by men (90.0%) than by women (89.1%). The researchers also noted that cannabis concentrates, such as cannabis oil, produced a larger reduction in headache severity ratings than cannabis flower. Cannabinoids or terpenes? There was no significant difference in pain reduction among cannabis strains that were higher or lower in levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), two of the most commonly studied chemical constituents in cannabis, also known as cannabinoids. Since cannabis is made up of over 100 cannabinoids, this finding suggests that different cannabinoids or other constituents like terpenes may play the central role in headache and migraine relief. Simply said, they aren't sure exactly which cannabinoids/terpenes is the one or combo treating headaches. They just are finding that the plant cannabis has some amazing constituents that need a lot more research. Until then if you have headaches, migraines or any other pain give whole plant full spectrum Hemp Extracts a try for more therapeutic value. Most of our clients see results with our 750mg Full Spectrum Hemp derived CBD extract. Here is a link to the complete guide on headaches by the National Headache Foundation. https://headaches.org/resources/the-complete-headache-chart/ When we steam distill cannabis flowers we get the essence of the plant, known as terpenes. More than 20,000 terpenes appear throughout nature, in every plant, every flower, and even some insects. About 200 – are found in cannabis. But these days, cannabis terpenes are huge in the medical community. Once thought responsible only for the aroma & taste of plants (as an evolutionary defense mechanism against predators), terpenes are now known to possess serious medicinal value. In cannabis, terpenes work in synergy with each other and cannabinoids like THC and CBD to enhance or buffer the plant’s medicinal strength. That’s what the term entourage effect means. Each terpene also has its own unique powers which we will present in upcoming posts about each terpene of the cannabis plant.
Cannabis essential oil is not intoxicating, and does not contain THC. It is made from the Cannabis sativa plant, its flowers and upper leaves. Cannabis essential oil benefits include pain relief, sleep aid, relaxant, and skin balancing. As with every essential oil, I believe you have to find the botanical that works for you, your body, your internal chemical composition. With that said there is now a DNA test that will pin point not only the cannabinoids most beneficial for you, but also which terpenes are best for you. Order your cannabis DNA test kit here. By diffusing cannabis essential oil, one almost immediately receives the calming and uplifting benefits. CEO diluted may also be applied topically for localized relief. For ingestion, one would want to work with a Clinical Aromatherapist. We are in the French camp on ingesting EO's, which is to say we find it perfectly safe and take full responsibility for our ingestion. This is a personal choice that we will leave up to you. In a study, Cannabis Essential Oil: A Preliminary Study for the Evaluation of the Brain Effects results suggest the occurrence of the positive relaxation and anxiolytic effects of Cannabis Essential Oil, (CEO). These findings provide evidence that brain wave activity autonomic nervous system response and mood states were affected by CEO. |
