A recent study confirmed that cannabis compounds may be effective at preventing cavities and gum disease than current oral hygiene products.
The study, Cureus Journal of Medical Science, found that the cannabinoids CBD, CBGA, CBG, CBN, and CBC killed more bacterial colonies in plaque than commercial toothpastes such as Colgate, Oral B, and others. The researchers made their discovery after collecting plaque samples from 60 healthy participants. The plaque was collected with sterile toothpicks and spread across petri dishes. The dishes were then hit with either a mixture containing one of the five cannabinoids mentioned above, or a mixture containing one of the common toothpaste brands. On average, the cannabinoids prevented the growth of bacteria better than any of the three toothpaste products or controls. Researchers concluded that cannabinoids compounds could also slow the development of antibiotic resistance seen in difficult-to-treat infections like MRSA. CBG is the cannabinoid to treat MRSA and we offer it in several different formulations. Of course one doesn't have to wait for a cannabinoid toothpaste. One can simply drop a few drops onto their toothbrush, add a little of your favorite toothpaste and brush away bacteria. For that tooth that always is causing problems, try dipping a toothpick into the cannabis extract and carefully work it around the tooth and gum. Also, if taking cbd/cbg extracts sublingually, simple swish around in mouth before swallowing your daily dose.

Yes, it really works for Anxiety. I can personally attest to this as well at thousands of our clients.
Feelings of stress and mild anxiety are your body’s cry for help, that something is out of balance and you need to respond to it. CBD should be your first line of defense for anxiety & stress. CBD interacts with our Endocannabinoid System ECS, an internal balance system that plays a crucial role in regulating stress and mood. To regain inner calm, we must restore the health and function of our endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a regulatory system vital for internal homeostasis, or balance. When you feel mildly anxious or stressed, your ECS helps to bring your emotions back to neutral. Try 15mg of CBD and see how you feel in about 20 minutes. Most experience a calming, focused benefit. Our best selling product for anxiety is the 500mg Pure CBD Isolate taken under the tongue. Discover and remove yourself from toxic anxiety/stress, anger triggers. Then add in some wellness practices; things that you find enjoyable. The following are a few suggestions to consider: Get out in nature. In a 2018 study published in the Levels of Nature and Stress Response, visiting natural environments produced the most significant improvements in markers of psychological and physical stress. Eat a Nutritious Diet. Discover what personal diet choices trigger your stress response by taking notice of how certain foods impact you. Scientists have discovered that what we eat influences depression and feelings of distress. In particular, whole plant-based foods, like fruits, veggies, and whole grains, appear to boost our moods and feelings of emotional well-being. Daily 5 minute "eyes closed" breaks with focus on breath for calming. Consider adding gentle physical movement which stimulates neurotransmitters that quell anxiety and support a happy mood. The Eastern mind-body practices of yoga, tai chi, and qigong each incorporate exercise, allowing you to reap these benefits. Research has found these practices to calm the central nervous system (CNS) improving mood, relieving anxiety and boosting the immune system. And finally put down the cell phone, tablet, computer. It emits artificial blue light, which our eyes' natural filters can not provide sufficient protection from. The systems that are indirectly connected to light and linked to mood disorders include disruption of sleep, brain plasticity, neurotransmission, hormone secretion, and gene expression. Even mainstream Consumer Reports is reporting the possible benefits of CBD for sleep disorders. https://www.consumerreports.org/cbd/can-cbd-help-you-sleep/
It's pretty simple and effective for most sleep disorders. By bringing down the inflammation with CBD, one's anxiety and pain is reduced or eliminated allowing for a better nights sleep. Especially helpful for those suffering from an "over-active" mind is our Good Night Sleep formula, which has sedative plant botanicals added. We see most folks get results quickly. Still some struggle and do not get the number of hours of sleep they desire. We feel this maybe an aging hormonal imbalance and given time, one may be able to increase the number of sleep hours nightly. A 25+mg full spectrum CBD dose is where we see sleep benefits. Additionally try some deep breathing and meditation before bed and stay away from the computer/phone blue light. The blue light that's emitted from these screens can delay the release of sleep-inducing melatonin, increase alertness, and reset the body's internal clock (or circadian rhythm) to a later schedule. Sweet Dreams! In a recent cohort study they investigate the impact of full hemp extract cannabidiol (CBD) on opioid use and quality of life indicators among chronic pain patients.
131 patients was recruited from a private pain management center’s investigative population. Ninety-seven patients completed the 8-week study. The primary inclusion criteria included patients between 30 and 65 years old with chronic pain who have been on opioids for at least 1 year. Data were collected at three different time points: baseline, 4, and 8 weeks. Opioid and other medication use were evaluated via the medication and psychiatric treatment receipt. Improvement was evaluated using four indices: Pain Disability Index (PDI-4); Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Pain Intensity and Interference (PEG); and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4). Over half of chronic pain patients (53%) reduced or eliminated their opioids within 8 weeks after adding CBD-rich hemp extract to their regimens. Almost all CBD users (94%) reported quality of life improvements. The results indicated a significant relationship between CBD and PSQI (p = 0.003), and PEG (p = 0.006). There was a trend toward improvement but no significant relationship between CBD use and PHQ and PDI. Additional reductions in polypharmacy on the medication receipt were noted; six participants reported reducing or eliminating their anxiety medications, and four participants reported reducing or eliminating their sleep medication. Secondly, Eighty-nine (94%) of the hemp CBD users reported improved quality of life outcomes on subjective, open-ended questions. This study concluded that using CBD for chronic pain in patients using opioids has a significant effect on reducing opioid intake, reducing pain and improving Quality of Life. Well, science is reporting findings on one of the compounds within the cannabis species. That compound is Cannabigerol, also known as CBG and it has been found to wipe out drug-resistant bacteria, raising hopes in the fight against superbugs. Specifically tests in the lab showed that CBG, killed common MRSA microbes and “persister” cells that are especially resistant to antibiotics and that often drive repeat infections. The compound also cleared up hard-to-shift “biofilms” of MRSA that can form on the skin and on medical implants.
In the unpublished study, they found that CBG cured mice of MRSA infections as effectively as vancomycin, a drug widely considered to be the last line of defence against drug-resistant microbes. The study is under review at the ACS Infectious Diseases journal. Additionally, in the study they found that CBG and other cannabinoids did not work well against gram negative multi-drug resistant bugs. But that when CBG was used with small quantities of the antibiotic polymyxin B, which disrupts the outer membrane of gram negative bacteria, the cannabis compound killed the drug-resistant pathogens. Eric Brown, a microbiologist who led the work at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, said cannabinoids were “clearly great drug-like compounds”. We are hopeful that with continued studies the potential of cannabis cannabinoids as antibiotics will not remain a mystery and the plant take its rightful place in the clinical medicine field. |
